I am getting Red Exclamation Points in the bottom of all my icons in the vb folder. When I run the program it runs as it should. Where am I going wrong? Hi Philosophaie, Do you use some backup software such as Mozy? If so, that icon could mark files that haven't been backed up yet. In the backup configuration, there is an option to disable icon overlays and you can use that to remove the Red Exclamation point. I have other VB.
It is a problem in Windows Vista. The content you requested has been removed. Thank you Andre! I should say that I bought this HP laptop not even two years ago. It's not a great system but it's adequate. I only email and use the internet. I couldn't care less about any of the features that FCU is offering. So that is just to say that my laptop is not old and came with I don't want to upgrade to I am not going to "create" anything.
I never heard of Story Remix. I have put no additional software on my computer. I'm not going to pounce on it. I just wondered if I have done any"damage" to the computer, not real damage but potential corruption. A friend of mine who used to work at MS, said just forget it. But he did't let me explain that the FCU changes the build and version of the pc. He said updates are for people who are at risk for being hacked and I can just skip them.
I always put on updates faithfully when I had xp and Vista but they let the consumer have some control. Windows 10 is a PITA. I will come back to you for concerns. THanks again. I bet next time I look at the Updates in Settings the red ex. You think? I was getting ready to use the snipping tool and when I reopened setting and updates, the list of updates waiting to be downloaded was gone and the red exclamation point was gone.
It seems to go back and forth between these various screens. If it comes back I"ll send the screenshot. I really feel it is Microsoft's effort to try to get me to download them. Red exclamation points tend to get people's attention.
What do you think is going on? Prior to the FCU release, I put on all my updates every time with maybe one fail. I don't have the exclamation point in my device manager. It is in Settings, under Windows Update. To my surprise it showed that I have 38 GB free space. At the same time though, some not all of my desktop icons now have a red exclamation point on them.
There are some that are shortcuts, jpg files and doc files. What does the red exclamation mean and what would cause me to now have more disc space free? This thread is locked.
